• Function

1.Sealing: Creates an airtight seal on the radiator filler neck, preventing coolant loss and contamination.

2.Pressure Regulation: Contains a spring-loaded valve that opens when system pressure exceeds 16 psi, allowing excess coolant to flow to the expansion tank. When the engine cools and pressure drops, the valve closes to maintain pressure.

3.Boiling Point Elevation: The 16 psi pressure raises the coolant's boiling point by about 8–10°C, reducing the risk of steam formation and hot spots within the engine.

4.Coolant Expansion/Recovery: As coolant heats up and expands, it is safely routed to the expansion tank; when it cools, it is drawn back into the radiator, ensuring a consistent coolant level.
